Start preparing before the application opens.
Explore study, training and work routes. Keep records of your progress and prepare before an application opens. This is general guidance, not a list of school-confirmed bursary opportunities.
Please note: each bursary provider sets its own requirements, criteria and closing dates. Always check the provider’s official information. This checklist helps you prepare; it does not guarantee funding.
Research before you apply
Compare the course or training route, entry requirements, costs and application steps. Check each provider’s official website for eligibility and current dates; record the source and the date you checked it. Do not pay someone who promises guaranteed funding.
A motivation letter with evidence
Explain what you want to study and why. Describe a specific challenge, what you did and what you learned. Connect your projects or community contribution to your goals, then proofread and ask someone you trust for feedback. Request references early and ask permission before sharing contact details.
